Prevention and Management of Mental Health

In Canada, figures show that one person in five is likely to experience a mental health problem in their life lifetime. This translates into nearly six (6) million Canadians (Health Canada, 2003. Canadian Health Network).
These statistics are troubling and are part of the reason why workplaces are increasingly sensitive to their employees' physical as well as mental health.
Workplaces understand that their employees' optimal mental health is not only associated with a good working environment, but also reduces health and safety risks and also increases performance and productivity.
With the goal of developing healthier work environments, Relais Expert-Conseil will offer, as part of its training on the Prevention and Management of Mental Health, tools that will allow participants to :
- understand the importance of good mental health
- understand the different manifestations and symptoms associated to different mental disorders (depression, anxiety, etc.)
- identify risk factors which influence an optimal level of mental health
- demystify the major misconceptions related to mental health
- develop tools for responding to individuals facing difficulties
- develop preventive strategies for maintaining optimal mental health
