An employee can be faced with difficulties of a legal matter that risk having an impact on his or her personal, family and professional life.

Within the EAPF framework, the employee can benefit from a number of appointments in order to answer some legal preoccupations (the number of meetings is determined in each company's EAPF contract agreement). 

The difficulties for which an employee (or employee family member) consult generally fall under two categories: 

• Legal problems of a civil nature (such as divorce, bankruptcy, etc.) 
• Legal problems of a criminal nature

In cases where a particular legal matter cannot be serviced within the EAPF program (for examplea conflict of interests, services requiring a particular expertise), the employee will be redirected and given another reference.

Once a file is opened, the employee or family member can rely on the assitance program (the number of hours permitted with a professional is previously established by the employer) through various forms of services according to their personal schedule, tastes and preferences:

• Meetings at the professional's office (by appointment) 
• Telephone consultation 
• Secure tele-consultating via the Internet 

Once the intervention is completed, the employee or family member will be asked to complete a short and confidential satisfaction survey concerning the services received.
